IMMIGRATION AND ICE
IMMIGRATION AND ICE
I will move to reform immigration law. I will fight to limit ICE to convicted felons, and stop community sweeps. Undocumented individuals identified by ICE should be given an Immigration Court date.
I do believe in enforcing our immigration laws — but I also believe in enforcing the Constitution.
The Fourth Amendment is clear: the government shall not enter someone’s home without a warrant signed by a judge. That protection exists to keep any agency from becoming judge, jury, and enforcer all at once.
Right now, there are serious questions about ICE using internal paperwork instead of judicial warrants to enter homes. That should concern every American — not because of politics, but because of principle.
We can have secure borders, lawful enforcement, and constitutional rights at the same time. That’s not radical. That’s American.
And that’s the standard I’ll hold the federal government to.
